Walmart trusted Pointes’ vision to create an interactive space at the 3rd annual Black Joy Parade. Walmart wanted a lively space where attendees would be enticed to sit and make crowns. Given free-reign, we designed a space for people of all ages to DIY crowns with the pros at Headdress Workshop. We also fabricated a beautiful backdrop with Walmarts “Reign On” monicker & beautiful florals for that added WOW factor.
BLACK JOY LOUNGE
ACTIVATION
We partnered with Black Joy Parade to create a lounge & photo moment indoors. This space was a simple way to create something special for the amazing staff and volunteers who helped the day go off without a hitch!
BLACK JOY PARADE x LYFT

In partnership with Lyft & (monthly open mic vets) Second Monday, the Black Joy Parade team created Sip & Speak. A networking and open mic night for a chance to land a spot on the Black Joy Parade stage.
BLACK JOY PARADE FUNDRAISER ‘19

Black Joy Parade hosted their second annual fundraiser, SHADES. An arts and cultural affair exploring diversity within the black diaspora. The event was hosted on Oaklands waterfront and featured live painting from a few of Oaklands dopest black artists. We had performances from spoken word artist, Prentice Powell, and bassist/vocalist, Aneesa Strings.
REDBULL AMAPHIKO CONNECT

Redbull Amaphiko hosted a community gathering for the tastemakers and artists of Oakland, CA. The event took place over two days with “building community momentum” at the forefront of their mission. Day 1 consisted of an evening of conversation over dinner. Day 2 kicked off with yoga guided by Trap Yoga Bae and settled into deeper workshops through out the remainder of the day.

/dev/color in Motion is the exclusive national conference for professional black software engineers. Engineers from all over come to talk tech, collaboration, networking and community outreach.
AIRBNB @ AFROTECH

Airbnb’S “Refresh & Recharge Lounge” was featured at Afrotech 2018. The activation lounge was filled with plenty of recharging elements; charging stations for your phone & computer or lite snacks for an afternoon pick me up. As well as refreshing ones; mini stations fully stocked with Shea Moisture lotion, Cocoa butter vaseline, mints & more.
The lounge was ground zero for the release of the Phenomenally Black T-Shirts from the Phenomenal woman action campaign with Meena Harris.
/DEV/COLOR WOMEN IN ENGINEERING

/Dev/color is a non profit organization for black engineers. They hosted an intimate dinner for 30 women engineers at Airbnb’s SF campus. The evening consisted of dinner and conversation surrounding black women in engineering. “Libated” with complementary wine from the McBride Sisters winery.

Black Joy Parade hosted Le Diner en Noir - a black-tie fundraiser. The guest gathered for a formal sit down dinner with a live band and vocals from Astu. As well as a chat with the founder of the parade Elisha Greenwell and

AIRBNB HISPANIC HERITAGE BENEFIT

Airbnb’s LatinX employee group, Juntos hosted a fiesta in celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month. The fiesta doubled as a fundraiser for immigrant childrens’ rights org, The Young Center. The fiesta included a live salsa band with salsa lessons, taco stations and an art auction.

Sunday, February 24th, 2019 Black Joy hit the street of Oakland. The parade is a live experience that celebrates the black community and provides space to champion black culture. This year 18 thousand people enjoyed music, dance food, vendors and a plethora of activities for those young and old.
HOUSE NO. 3028 POP UP
ACTIVATION
House No. 3028 is a brown girls nude shoe brand, hosted a pop up shop to launch their latest collection, The Nu Generation. The night consisted of sweet treats inspired be the deliciously named shoe hues (cacao, brownie, etc), a host of black women vendors and a live shoe debut.
